As I flip my fingers over UK’s Bike magazine I can’t stop the amazement from the number that the S1000RR produce. It has 30 more HP compare to the Ducati 1198S and Aprilia RSV4. 18 HP more then the most powerful Jap liter bike the ZX-10R. And more power then the previous horse power king the Suzuki Hayabusa (180HP). Keep in mind the Suzuki Hayabusa is 1300cc bike, as the S1000RR is 1000cc bike.
If you must know, here’s the figure compering the S1000RR with its rival, all numbers are rear wheels HP figures off course:
- BMW S1000RR, 183.7 HP
- Kawasaki ZX-10R, 165.3 HP
- Honda CBR1000RR, 164.5 HP
- Suzuki GSX-R1000, 160.1 HP
- Yamaha R1, 156.3 HP
- Ducati 1198S, 154.9 HP
- Aprilia RSV4, 152.9 HP
True, the S1000RR got its ass kicked back in WSBK championship 2009. Another prove that power alone do not get the championship. But 180HP+ stock? Got yourself full system Akra with race ECU I bet it can brake 200HP easy, S1000RR for sure win the bragging rights this year!
BMW Motorrad Malaysia is arranging test ride in Sepang in February 2010, I hope I can get the ticket for that one 😀
