Race Report: National Championship SBK 2009 Series 5 – Red Flag

It was chaos at the back straight exiting S Besar chicane. Right after the start with 28 riders storming in to turn 1 the heaven opens up with torrential downpour. I knew this was trouble. My start was OK, I managed to gain several position just before R3 but with the downpour and visibility minimized most of us started to slow down. When I reached S Besar chicane I saw several bikes on the tarmac and on the gravel, followed by red flag waved by the marshal.
Race Report: National Championship Superbike/FFA 2009 Series 1

Nice picture above eh? That was me overtaking Ahmad Jayadi (No 17) at Turn 2 Sentul.. Hahaha.. I wish!! The truth was that I being passed from the outside and being overlapped by him… Nice move Adi!
It is a new year with a new National Championship! I still contemplating weather to participate fully this year just like I did last year. Let just see how it goes. This year championship will be much tougher then last year, first is because we will start together with the SuperSport Championship that is full with professional riders and second is because the race will be 15 laps compare to 10 laps last year.
The final 2008 series…

The final race of 2008! I’m glad the series are over and I have fulfilled my target to participate fully in this year National Championship Superbike and Supersport Race. I’ve improved my lap time from 1:55 to 1:47 from the first series QTT to the last series race this year. I still have no plan for next year, lets just see how it goes.
Since I got back to ride again in 2007 and participate fully in 2008 my sole and only intention is just to have “FUN”! And what a fun it was! All and all I did 8 races in 2008 (2 IndoPrix series) not including the Ducati’s fun race.
Pics from the last race (5th series 08)

Some pics from the last race. I must say not all went sour on last week end race, some of the pics were good!! Fellow friend told me that I need to work on my body position, I think I will do just that and hopefully can further improve my time… Hmmm when will be the next track day.. can’t wait!
Check our more pics bellow..
It was not a good weekend

Sigh… It was not a good week end for me during the 5th series of National Superbike Championship. Starting from Wednesday practice I was struggling to reach 1:47.. Obviously I bit disappointed with my lap time, unable to brake my best lap time of 1:47.2, perhaps too much information from the new books in the past months! Hehehe
Championship standing, National Superbike/FFA 2008

Championship standing till the 4th round. Top 5 is same ol’-same ol’. Matteo has widen the gap with the 2nd position, Ahmad Jayadi. With only 2 round left for the 2008, the race for national championship is getting tighter!
Yours truly is in 16 position with 10 points, I’ve got 5 points each in the 3rd and 4th round. I was lucky as most faster rider then me like Didi, Edy Saputra, Agus, Gabriel, etc were absent. So point for me!
Superbike Kejurnas Race, 4th series

The 4th series of National Superbike/Supersport Championship. Yup, that was me on the podium 3rd place.
Not overall race winner off course, but on the novice category. Nevertheless the taste of podium stand holding the trophy was simply electric..
My time further improve to 1:47.672…
Picture by Dany (danspeed) of Bikeart Magazine..

From the last Kejurnas Round III Race, I had my pictures taken by Dany from Bikeart Magazine (http://www.majalahbikeart.com). Checkout the graphics art by him above.. that picture will be framed in A3 size for sure..
Not only that his pictures are very-very good but also give you an opportunity to see your own posture riding performance bike. Thus you can learn from the pics. Just like the following pics.
Round III Kejurnas Superbike Race (July 6th 2008)

The third round of National Superbike and Supersport Championship. I am very happy with the results as my lap time was further improved. My best lap time is 1:48.681. But I am happier the most since I managed to keep most of my lap time during the race in under 1:50.
Not many participants for this round with only 14 starter with most of them are fast rider. Some key points taken from the race.
The official 1:49′661 and the Ducati Touring Sentul..

It was a busy Sunday (15th of June). I got Indoprix Superbike Race in the afternoon and Ducati Touring in the morning. I officially recorded under 1:50 during Superbike Indoprix race and I was quite happy with it. Yet, I need to work on my stamina for sure as I did not able to keep the 1:49 time for more than a lap. It was exhausting!
The Ducati Touring was also so much fun, it was a “Wet Race” and all the guys were enjoying them self. I was lent a Ducati Monster S4 for this race, er, I mean tour ..
