Sentul'09... Just me and my ride..

Hi there..

Thank you for visiting my blog.

*Modify 6/3/2015

I’ve changed the tag lines to “My journey so far with pictures” from “My ride so far with pictures”

This blog is for things that interest me. And since my interest change from time to time, this blog happen to coincide with my interest in motorcycle. Especially sport motorcycle. Hence you see most of the blog contents will be at that subject.

*Added 24/2/2010*

This blog also about photography as my fond of photography suddenly coming back to me in late 2009. I was enjoying photography years ago but now I need to re learn as well as to learn new stuff about digital photography. I will post topic about photography from time to time and hopefully you will enjoy it as well.

This blog also about my new keen interest in SCUBA DIVING, so look forward for my SCUBA DIVING adventure in the most beautiful place underwater on earth!

You will also notice that this blog is written in English, eventhough I originaly from Indonesia where we speak Bahasa Indonesia. I do this deliberately to further improve my English language skills, and to encourage future readers (I assume most of them shall be my fellow countrymen) and content providers to speak English as well. So pardon the miss spell and the gramatically challange sentences…

As for my self, can be described by the following points:

  • I’ve been blessed with three cherish one, and together with my better half, they are the center of my universe.
  • I co-founded and together with my partners we’re running our own business.
  • I enjoy a round of golf with the buddies (best gross 86, Emeralda). Some how I no longer enjoy golf.. 😀 (3/12/10)

My best official lap time is 2:13.986 (Ducati MTS 620), 2:06.243 (Ducati S2R 800) 2:00.233 (Ducati Superbike 996) 1:54.xxx 1:52.xxx 1:48.x 1:47.2 1:46.4 (Honda CBR600RR) for Sentul Circuit. As for Sirkuit Kecil Sentul, my best lap time is 1:16.xxx 1:12.895 1:10.xxx 1:09.xxx with Suzuki Satria FU.

  1. Sorry brother..

I read the Ducati model 996 year 200 article (and made my comment) before I read this “about” column of yours, so I didn’t notice that english is main language in here, sorry…

From now on, I promise…I’ll use 100 % of my english writing skill to post my other comments 🙂

In my office, we use 99% english to communicate, we speak very little bahasa only to other local colleague, got a little bored with english I would say..hehe..(and too bad I don’t speak other languages either)

That’s why sometimes I prefer to write in bahasa if it is informal, like when I’m making comments on the web blog, even sometimes I wrote in very deep betawi accent (perhaps you noticed some of my comments in brother Tri’s web blog).
I found it is fun to write comments in deep betawi accent 🙂

Anyway, nice to know you…nice web blog you got here..and nice hobby you have too..ducati is one of the motorcycle legend in the world!!

    Ride safely, brother….

    cheers..
    Japra

  2. Halo Sattar.. apa kabar… oh yes.. by the way we need to speak english yach.. so I can practive mine..

Hmmm, can you check how much is Arrai RX-7 helmet? Thinking to get one… hehehe where are you now?

  3. Boss,

    talking about DDOCI blog,

kayaknya sekarang Pake moderasi komentar yah …

i dont think is good idea lho. since by limiting the comentary post it will degrade the number of visitor.

btw this is my private blogg about my private interest, the indobikers still exist, but it will concentrate in motorcycle world only. to keep the objetivity of the news that i poste. gracias

  4. Satar (Retorika and Indobikers)….

Kok jadinya 4L sih (lu lagi.. lu lagi..)..

Anyhow, ddoci blog objective is not to get the most numbers of visitors. The same with bonadjalins blog… cheers!

  5. Hey I just came across your website/blog. I’m a motorcycle enthusiast from the United States. I am so glad there is a track in the Jakarta area! My wife who is Indonesian will be moving to Jakarta later this year and I plan on shipping my bikes over there. I don’t plan on riding on the streets due to the crazy traffic.

How often do you ride the track there? How much are the fees? Please let me know. Hopefully we can ride together in the future.

    Regards,

    Fred

  6. Hi Fred,

We do track day quite often, and as long as the track is open you can basically do track day as often as you like. The fees is IDR 250,000 or about US$ 30 per day. Also it is more recomended if you can joint local club if you plan to stay long in the country.

Keep me posted about your upcoming trip to Indonesia, we shall ride together in future in Jakarta 🙂

    Cheers!

  7. Thanks for the quick reply. There’s a good chance we will be moving there. Do you belong to a club? When I was over there last year I only saw smaller bikes/scooters on the road. Are there a lot of 600-1000cc bikes there? I’ve got two 600cc bikes that I plan on shipping over.

    Thanks,

    Fred

  8. Hi Fred,

Yes, I joint local race club. We do have expats in the club as well.

Most of the bike (about 99.9%) in Indonesia is scooter/smaller bike bellow 200cc. It is the main means of transportation here. For bigger bike Harley is the most popular one. Sport bike 600cc or above is quite few, and most exclusively for track use only.

Hope the info helps, let me know if you need more 🙂

  9. I meant to ask.. is your name Bonadjalins your name? Or just a screen name?

Yes I plan to use my bikes for track only. Do you have any more pics of the track, club members, rides, etc? I would love to see them.

    Fred

  10. Hi Bona, great site bro.
My name is Jay from Philippines. I moved to Kakarta last December and plans to ride in Sentul instead of the crazy street that Fred has mentioned.
I met Dyan Dilato in Sentul sometime in December and im now looking for a track bike, i didnt bring my R6 from Manila due to the huge taxes that needs to be paid.
Im not a racer but i do enjoy track days in Philippines whenever i got the chance(though not often). Ill be in Sentul this Sat (Jan 19) with Dyan, hope to meet you guys in the future.

Hi Fred, so when are you arriving Jakarta?

    Cheers!
    Jay

  11. Hi Jay,

Hey are you the one that bought Ducati Monster in Jakarta? Friend of mine told me he sold his Ducati Monster to some one from Philiphines that moved to Jakarta, perhaps it was you?

Anyhow, thanks for visiting my blog and glad that you like it.

If you like track riding Sentul is the place to go, and you met the right person also. I also being trained by Dyan Dilato he one of our FIM Asia GP racer, very smooth at Sentul.

Yup, I’ll be in Sentul too this Saturday.. see you there then!

    Cheers,
    Bona

  12. Jay,

We should be there by the end of the year. We might be there over the summer for a few weeks though. Ride safe and hopefully we can meet up in the future.

    Fred

  13. Mas Bona,

he…he.. now is my turn to visit your blog…..last time i browsed this site with didi , he wanted to show me about the knee down article..he..he…great one….

btw, i did tried to open an account with photo bucket and resize the photo as per your suggestion and also copied and pasted in my post…but it did not show anything……heeellllpppppppp

    he..he…

    danke well,
    Grace

  14. Thank you for visiting my blog mba’ grace..

Hey.. where is Didi..? He never visited my blog again after being attack silly by Eko.. you know.. stop the sandbagging already!!! hehehe..

Anyhow, from Photobucket you only need to copy the link or the “Direct Link” under the pic thumbnails. From there paste the link at the Insert/edit menu at WordPress… do wait for awhile for the pic to be uploaded at wordpress. If the pic size is too big, it will take long time hence you may think it doesn’t work.

    Cheers..

  15. my pleasure…..
all right…i will try again…….i think i did not wait last time…….

didi somewhere around i dont know…he..he…..he’s sandbagger and he will always be!!!!….just ignore……he..he….

    danke,…

  16. Mas Bona,……

gue udah coba dan bisaaa………thank uuuuuuuu

tapi one more question, how to resize to become the size as your suggested ? geu coba pake resize di adobe…….tapi keluarnya tetep gede……..resize nya dimana ? he..he. maap gatekkkkk

  17. mba Grace..

I use Microsoft Office Picture Manager, and there is Resize settings feature under Edit Pictures. I resize them to a prediefined (448 x 336) resolution.

Don’t forget to safe the resized image first before you upload to photobucket.

Also one other thing; if you want to keep the original pic size, safe the resized pic to other name, otherwise the original pic will be replaced.. and you don’t want that…

    Hope it helps..

    🙂

  18. haaaaa. thank you…..tar geu coba…..

btw, the sandbagger is sitting beside me now..sambil ngomel..ngomel…..kata dia “pada kurang ajar nih anak anak….”….hi..hi..hi….dia baru tahu kalo bininya gosipin behind his back with his friend…..yyyiiiuuukkkk… hwakakak……

  19. hehe… im no expert..my personal take is fujitsu s series is ok… but bit pricy…

no disrespect to pak ketua… but please stop telling that your back is hurt while you can tee off 250m… 🙂

  20. Ok, thnak’s about fujitsu….

but it’s true that his back was hurt at the time , makanya bisa jauh pukulannya…kalo gak sakit gak bisa jauh…….

maap gue dipaksa nulis ama didi…he..he……

  27. Hi alisha.. wow a racer girl!!! Good for you.

Anyway you must be mistaken, I do not have racer school. Sorry!

  28. Hello! I haven’t posted in a few months but wanted to say HI. I’m currently looking for a dedicated track bike here in the U.S. to bring back to JKT 🙂 Wish me luck!

  29. Hi,
I just arrived in Indonesia and i’m motorcycle fan. I wonder if you could give me some advises? I’m looking to buy a supermoto but don’t know where to go. I’m located in Jakarta.
    Thanks in advance,
    Cheers

  30. Hi Thierry,

    Welcome to Indonesia! 🙂

You can go to Automall in Sudirman Central Business District in Jakarta, there you can find KTM, Ducati, and several other brand as well.

Will this be your first motorcycle purchase in Indonesia? Got to warn you that bike’s (250 cc above) price is expensive compare to other country due to the tax. And you will need to have “C” driving license as well.

    Cheers..

  31. Thanks for the informations. yes it will be my first bike in Indonesia and you are right they are very expensive here compare to Malaysia and Thailand where i was living before. I Malaysia i have a Kawa 1200 ZRX and 1 FP1…Shame that i have to sale them before coming here coze it has been not possible to import them.
I’ll go to your suggested place but if you heard about second hand supermoto let me know.

    cheers

  32. Hi

Just popped by and saw your blog. Very good, and a great job in getting those lap times down! Eastern Creek, near Sydney, Australia, is my favourite track at the moment, but I have not yet tried Phillip Island (I hope to later this year).

The Sentul track looks good! Maybe if I’m over that way I should try it out.

    All the best,

    Chris

  33. ^Chris..

Thanks! Glad that you like my blog. Wow… I envy you, PI is one the best track ever for bike!

    Cheers!

  34. Hi Bona!

It’s been a while since I last posted. How have you been? Your bikes look great – I especially like what you’ve done to your 600RR.

There’s a chance my wife and I will be in Jkt in a couple weeks for a wedding 🙂

    Fred (Atlanta, GA USA)

  35. Hi Fred!

Thanks, the CBR is my pride and joy.. hehehe

Do keep in touch and let me know if you in town!

    Cheers!

  36. I will definitely let you know if/when I get to town! Hey can you email me? I have a question to ask that I’m a bit too shy to post 🙂

    Thanks!

    Fred

  37. Bona,

Guess what? I am in Jakarta! My wife and I arrived last night. It was a last minute trip – bought the tickets 12 hrs before the flight departure. We are here for her sister’s wedding tonight (not even sure where it’s at LOL).

    Fred

  38. Hi Fred!

Welcome to Jakarta! How long will you stay? Your timing is not so good, riding wise :), as the Sentul Circuit is close till mid May. And do you notice it is scorching hot in Jakarta!!

Anyway enjoy your stay, and do keep in touch!

    Bona

  39. Bona,

Thanks! My stay is short – 48 hours! I’m flying out tonight. My wife is staying with her family in Jkt for a few extra weeks. I will fly back again later to accompany her back to the U.S. Hopefully Sentul will be open then so I can go visit 🙂

    Fred

  40. Mas Bona,
Thks to comment my blog article about moto2 single engine suplyer

I do appreciate it ‘n pardon me if i made an article from your comment 😉

walah english nya ancurr ya . . . pokoke aku minta izin copy-paste komentarnya buat dijadikan artikel ya mas 😉

  41. Hi there, long time no comment,
I saw you and your Multistrada at the workshop this morning.
I didn’t have the change to introduce myself.
I was the skinny guy in the orange shirt. hehe
I was just there picking up my first ducati, finally!
    It’s Jewel’s white monster 600.
while it’s not exactly yours (now rudy’s) S2R 800 hehe
But it’ll do just fine for me.. hehe

BTW I think I’ve read your article about tyre choices, but I couldn’t find it again anywhere. Can you give me the link?
I want to get new tyres for my baby.. hehe

    regards,
    Sam

  42. Hehe maybe I was just star-strucked, just like seeing a celebrity hehe..
The fact is I’m waiting for Jewel to introduce me, but he didn’t hehe..
I do want to join DDOCI but I’m afraid I wouldn’t have too much time to participate in anything.. and I’m a bit scared that you guys ride so hard even on a city ride (so I’ve read from blogs).
I am just learning here to ride such a heavy bike..
I just found out that you can not hesitate to lean while turning..? haha.. It won’t turn unless you lean your body.. right?
As for the tyre choices (thank you) obviously I should go for Sport or Sport Touring. My only concern is they are not slippery in wet and dry conditions even in very low speeds… hehe.
Which one (the cheapest) do you suggest..? hehe.

  43. Pak bona ya.. saya onay lagi cari cbr 600 tahun 2007-2008

    1. Hi Pak Onay,

Maaf pak saya tidak jual motor, mungkin Pak Onay bisa coba ke Hot Pipes atau Hobby Motor untuk motor-motor CBU di Jakarta.

      Salam.

  44. Salam Bona,
I was happy (baik baik) to find your blog and to read it. I have a website about motorsport: http://gp-lounge.com
One of the main topics to be developed is called “Round the World”. If you wish you could publish an article or a review there.
One of my main interests in the racing world is to read about Sentul.
Kindly have a look and drop me a line via the contact tab. That might help some to know you better as well,

    Terima kasih,

    JM

    1. Hi JM,
